EXERCISE: Strengthening Your Shoulders to the Sky

It's a common problem, especially for those of us who engage in activities that require overhead arm movements, such as swimming, tennis, and weightlifting.
But don't fret, there are exercises you can do to strengthen your shoulders and improve your endurance, and you’ll be swing your shoulders above you head like an majestic eagle in no time!
Here are a few simple yet effective exercises to get you started:
Shoulder press: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height. Palms facing forward, press the dumbbells overhead until your arms are fully extended. Pause for a second, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position. Repeat for 10-12 repetitions.
Lateral raise: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand at your sides. Palms facing down, raise the dumbbells out to the sides until your arms are parallel to the ground. Pause for a second, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position. Repeat for 10-12 repetitions.
Front raise: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand at your sides. Palms facing forward, raise the dumbbells in front of you until your arms are parallel to the ground. Pause for a second, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position. Repeat for 10-12 repetitions.

To make these exercises more challenging, you can use heavier weights or increase the number of repetitions. You can also try doing them with a resistance band.
Here's a tip to help you avoid injury: Be sure to warm up before doing any shoulder exercises.
You can do this by doing some light cardio, followed by some dynamic stretches, such as arm circles and shoulder shrugs.
