Strength Training: The Secret Weapon for a Healthier and Longer Life

"Is it true that having muscle on your body isn't simply about just trying to get stronger? Does having muscle in your body give you extra health benefits?"

Yes, my friend.

Did you know that muscles burn more calories than fat? Yes. It’s called the afterburn effect. This means that even after we finish exercising, our bodies continue to burn calories for up to 24 hours. That means we might be on the coach chilling on netflix and ice tea - long after our strength training workout - and still our fat burns on.

Other benefits of having muscles are:

  • Reduced risk of injuries. Muscles help to support and protect our joints. When we have more muscle mass, we are less likely to experience injuries, especially as we age.
  • Improved balance and coordination. Muscles also help us to maintain our balance and coordination. This is important for preventing falls and other accidents.
  • Stronger bones. Muscles help to strengthen our bones by pulling on them. This is especially important for women, who are at risk for osteoporosis later in life.
  • Better sleep. Muscles help us to sleep better at night. This is because when we exercise, our bodies release hormones that promote sleep.
  • Reduced stress levels. Exercise is a great way to reduce stress levels. And when we have less stress, we are more likely to make healthy choices and have a better overall well-being.

In short, having muscles is good for our overall health. It's not just about looking good. It's about feeling good and living a longer, healthier life.

David was a young man who was chosen by God to be king of Israel. David was a shepherd, and he was known for his strength and courage. One day, the Philistines, who were Israel's enemies, challenged the Israelites to a duel. The Philistines were represented by Goliath, a giant who was nine feet tall. The Israelites were afraid of Goliath, but David was not. David stepped forward and said, "I will fight this Philistine."

David knew that he was no match for Goliath in terms of size and strength. But David also knew that he had God on his side. David defeated Goliath with a single slingshot stone.

In the same way, we may not be able to match the giants in our lives in terms of size and strength. But when we have God on our side, we can overcome any obstacle.

So, my friend, I encourage you to start building your muscles today. It's not just about looking good. It's about feeling good and living a longer, healthier life. And it's about fulfilling God's plan for your life.

Hope this helps. If it does, please
